We’ve Upgraded – 900Mbps Full Fibre Internet!

At Springfield House, we’ve always embraced technology. A 16K ZX Spectrum was waiting under the Christmas tree here in 1983, and we never looked back! Nowadays, smartphones and iPads are a great way to communicate with friends and relatives, and some of our residents are avid computer users.
You may have heard that BT is phasing out the old copper phone line network. It’s the end of an era – even during power cuts, we could pick up the phone and hear a familiar dial tone. BT and the government say that the last analogue telephones will be switched off at the end of December 2026, so it was important for Springfield House to sort out our new digital telephone line and Full Fibre Internet well in advance.
The main BT router – the internet box! – connects to three Wi-Fi extenders strategically placed around the home. No matter where you are, you can be assured of a super-fast connection to the outside world. The TV in our main lounge is already hooked up. Most of the time, we use it for watching BBC and ITV, but occasionally, we go on YouTube and search for music and films as requested by our residents!
One great thing about our super-fast internet is that it future-proofs the home. No matter how many residents or visitors want to get online, with the fibre connection, there will always be plenty of high-speed bandwidth for everyone. Voice and video calls will run smoothly, and TV and internet watching will go uninterrupted.
Happy surfing, everyone!
