Christmas is coming! Every resident who could be persuaded went out shopping to enjoy the festive atmosphere. Also every resident had the opportunity to go out for a lunch with their key worker individually, or in very small groups. We are finding that this is a more enjoyable way for most of the residents to socialise, rather than all going out together.
In the two weeks before Christmas there were several special activities. A Christmas quiz was much enjoyed - can you name all Santa's reindeer? We had a singalong, a party with traditional games, and the old favourite, a tea dance, which brought lots of stories of happy courting days at the various Leeds dance halls. Carol singers helped us all get in the Christmas spirit, and plenty of port and lemons, and snowballs, were consumed. Pat's Christmas dinner was a triumph, and the residents and staff all sat down at one long table to enjoy it.
