Covid-19: Staff testing weekly // Residents 4 weekly // We are Covid-19 free
At Springfield House we follow the advice of the Government, and Leeds City Council, as we strive to keep all our residents and staff safe. As much as possible we keep life normal for the residents, and they enjoy their activities together as usual. Staff wear masks at all times, and gloves and aprons when performing personal care. They maintain social distancing whenever possible.
Staff have a Covid-19 test every week, and residents have one every 4 weeks.
We have a system for visiting by appointment, behind a Perspex screen, when the virus numbers are low. When they are increasing we stop the visiting indoors, and families can window visit, where they chat on the phone from outside, while looking at the resident. We also have iPads for residents to see their families and talk to them. We are so looking forward to the day when we can welcome visitors as we always have, open house, offering a cup of tea, and involving them in the life of the home.
As new advice comes from the government we are making visiting easier for families, who can now take relatives out for a drive or a walk.
All staff and residents have had two Covid vaccinations.
